On Sunday 31 August 2025, more than 200 Nepali engineers spent the day in the ATC Building at Swinburne University, Hawthorn. It ran nine to five. Graduates sat a few rows from directors running major infrastructure projects. Afterwards we wrote the whole day up and gave it its own page, linked straight from the top menu.

That link came down a few months ago. Nothing was wrong with the page — the conference had stopped being the first thing most visitors needed, and the menu was getting long. The page itself never moved. The only real casualty was that nobody could find it.

So here it is: SNEVic Career Conference 2025.

Here's what's on it. Shesh Ghale, Divya Pasupuleti, Dr Govinda Pandey and Dr Rabin Tuladhar gave the keynotes. Three panels followed: adapting to Australian workplaces, chaired by Dr Raju Adhikari; professional communication and leadership, opened by Hem Raj Panta of Jacobs; and strategic career planning, chaired by Ranjan Vaidya. Jerry Andrews, General Manager Victoria at Engineers Australia, sat on the second panel. Yew-Chin Koay, who chairs Engineers Australia's Overseas Qualified Engineers Committee, sat on two of the three.

Between sessions we ran free LinkedIn headshots, CV writing help, cover letter clinics and mock interviews.

If you were there, go for the photos. If you weren't, the panel summaries are the useful part. The questions people raised about qualification recognition, chartered status and getting past a first technical role have not dated at all.
